Cheasley headed to Westbury looking to build from last weeks strong start against Tiddington. Skipper Miller lost the toss, and we were fielding. With seasoned opening bowler Holland missing we opened with Sarwar (5-31-0) and Rao (5-32-0) who struggled on a flat Westbury road. A double change brought Tomlinson (10-47-4) and Bowman (10-49-1) into the attack. These two bowled well on a pitch that wasn’t offering much for the bowlers. Tomlinson made the breakthrough with the score on 73-1. The spin duo continued to keep things tight, putting the pressure on the two men in. Tomlinson took the second wicket with Biggs taking a good catch at slip. Two more fell for less than 10 runs. Chearsley were on top and kept pushing, Rahman (10-2-24) came on a attacked the stumps Goodchild (4-24-0) also came on and tried to buy wickets with full tosses encouraging the batters to hit to the long side of the ground. Miller (6-18-2) had seen enough of this after 4 overs and brought himself on. Him and Rahman bowled well and Westbury finished 228-9 off their 50 overs.

The usual pair Ross and Goodchild opened, both struggled to get going with Westburys seamers bowling well. Goodchild was the first to fall nicking off for 4. Ross soon followed with a rank swipe across the line and was bowled for 6. With Chearsley 13-2 Tomlinson and Biggs stared to rebuild. Just as Biggs started to get going, he was caught trying to go over the top and was out for 27. This brought Rao to the crease. Rao and Tomlinson batted well together and took the score from 56-3 to 203 before Tomlinson was trapped plum in front and was dismissed for 58. Rahman came and went without troubling the score. Bowman came in on full slapping duty and between him and Rao. Knocked off the remining 26 runs.
Another good win for Chearsley sees them two from two, and top of the league. Great to see new man Rao in the runs finishing 86* a real match winning performance.
