Chearsley entertained Bledlow Ridge, only four overs were lost due to the weather resulting in a 51/45 over game. Skipper James Veness lost the toss and they were inserted. Veness went early but Andy Crichton (20) and Matt Ricketts (35) added 38 for the second wicket before the former was dismissed.
Ricketts then added 39 with Marc Hignell (62 n.o.) and when the former went he put on 134 unbeaten for the 5th wicket with Ed Holland (65 n.o.). The hosts finished on 212 for 4. Matthew Brightwell was Ridge's best bowler with 1 for 11.
Ridge never really threatened this testing target. Opener John Rolfe (27) and Phillip Brooks (28) added 37 for the third wicket but wickets fell regularly George Miller took the first two and finished with 3 for 25, but it was the introduction of Matt Ricketts as first change who broke the back of the visitors batting with 4 for 29, of the remaining batsmen only James Goodband with 23 was the best. The last wicket fell in the 32nd over with the score at 129, giving the home team a win by 83 runs.
The win lifts the villagers to second place 9 points behind leaders Thame 2nds.
